Why Kaboing

Four ideas. Everything else is filler.

The Pakistani tech event landscape is fragmented across LinkedIn posts, Lu.ma pages, Devpost listings, university Slacks, and a few dozen Telegram groups. By the time you hear about most of it, the deadline is gone. Kaboing exists to close that gap.

Principle 01
Always-on discovery,
not a one-off scrape.

Agents run continuously across Eventbrite, Lu.ma, Devpost, Meetup, university calendars, RSS feeds, conference indices, and social — every few hours, day in and day out. New event listed at 3am? In your feed by breakfast.

Principle 02
AI relevance scoring,
not keyword soup.

Every event runs through a categorizer + scorer that understands what a hackathon vs a fellowship vs a panel actually is. Low-signal listings get demoted. Funded opportunities and deadline-driven applications float to the top.

Principle 03
Built for Pakistan,
open to the world.

First-class coverage of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and the rest of the country — plus international scholarships, fellowships, and conferences open to Pakistani builders. Filter by scope, funded-only, or by city.

Principle 04
Push, not pull.
If you want it.

Email digests today; WhatsApp alerts and personalized weekly briefings on the way. Subscribe to the categories you care about and let Kaboing tell you when something matches — instead of remembering to check yet another tab.

How it works

Discover. Filter. Deliver.

Three motions, run as scheduled jobs. The whole pipeline is open source — Celery beat for the cadence, FastAPI for the API surface, Postgres for storage, and a Next.js front end for everything you see.

01

Discover. Continuously.

Celery-scheduled agents pull from a dozen sources every few hours. Each event is normalized into a single schema — title, dates, venue, organizer, eligibility, funding — regardless of where it came from.

02

Filter. By signal, not by tags.

AI categorization places every event into the right bucket. A relevance score weighs source credibility, funding presence, deadline proximity, and topical fit. Duplicates collapse automatically across sources.

03

Deliver. Where you actually look.

Browse the live feed, search by category and city, or subscribe for digests. WhatsApp alerts and weekly briefings land in 2026 — paid tier for high-frequency notifications keeps the funnel honest.

Live data sources

We pull from where events actually live.

No paywalled scraping, no LinkedIn DM trees. The default stack hits open feeds and structured APIs — the kind of sources that don't mind being indexed.

Want broader social coverage? Drop your own API tokens for X, LinkedIn, and Meta into the env file and the social monitors wake up. No tokens, no problem — the open sources keep flowing.
